show tonight

The show at gold star is tonight. I'm showering for the first time in recent memory. i'm even gonna change this shirt i've been wearing for 3 days. it's gonna be a party. hopefully.

i'm showing more then i thought i could, which is rad.

I'm gonna break out the new flip cam and get some footage of the shenanigans...


worst case scenario i use it to bludgen my own head so this head ache goes away.

Upcomming group show

It's been awhile. mainly cause i've been busy. i bought a video camera. shit's about to get weird. either way all of that art work is starting to pay off...

December 5th, at 7pm, I will be in a group show at Gold Star Bar in Chicago (1755 W Division St, Chicago IL). I'm not really sure what the show is gonna be like, or what exactly i will show thanks to my work being HUGE, and this being a group show with limited room. Either way, I'm excited to be showing at home with some new artists, and showing some of the ridiculous amounts of crap i've been making. If you are in Chicago you should come. It is gonna be fun.

After the show, i'll be jumping across the Pond for a few weeks full of romantic adventure comedy. for good measure, we might throw some suspense in there. who knows.

Now i need to go sew some things. and turn off this new john mayer... what a let down.

serious like a heart attack

another day of working at the suburban home office to tie everything together. making pieces and then traveling with them incomplete for travel sake is kind of silly.

either way, i thought i might as well atleast put a sample of what some of these pieces are gonna look like.

i'm working with the idea's of the city for this show, lots of simple line work, but with some bold color choices, and a heavy emphasis on alot of found source materials to create an added texture. This specific piece below is 1 of an 8 part series, and weighs in at 12"x12". not everything i'm making looks like this, but it's a good jump off.

the mononivores is up

the show at GBU/UIC is officially up. turns out hanging a solo show is dramatically more difficult then expected. either way, here it is! i'm excited about the opening thursday....

too much to do. finished printing the show posters after several mishaps. i need new inks. drew more corn. drilled some holes in a historical building.

almost done. show goes up friday... well see how i feel about it then...

mononivore show details

The final details for the MONONIVORE show have finally been knocked out! i'm really excited about putting up (and finishing YIKES!) all this work...

The show will be up at the GBU Gallery in the Art and Design hall (400 S peoria st) on the 5th floor at U of I Chicago from April 27th-30. I'll be having an "opening" reception on the 30th at 7-830pm. afterwords, we will be walking a block north to Jak's Tap to enjoy some adult beverages.

I would love for anyone able to come see this show to come see it.

shit's getting ridiculous

Yeah. Thats a ladder i have to use to draw the last piece in the "mononivore" series. It's 8 feet tall. shits ridiculous. oh, and you can see the salmon in the background.

Either way, it's almost done and i'm really excited. I also got the go ahead today that i will be hanging the ENTIRE series at once at the University of Illinois Chicago the last week of april (27-1). It's EASILY the most ambitious effort i have ever under taken, and i hope some people will come by to check it out. I'll post more info when i get it. for now, i need to put some fancy cheese on some fancy meat.

new mexico

I started working on some sketches for the Denver show last night. i'm not exactly sure how it's going to shape up yet, but i'm going with a decomposing/abandoned/dark view of the city, almost to critique the theme i came up with for out show.

Denver June first friday

In June i will be hanging a joint show with my friend brandon proff and soon to be friend justin in Denver, to coincide with the June first friday art walks. It's gonna be in the front area of the Suburban home records office, which i'm currently sitting in, drinking an oak aged arrogant bastard ale.

We came up with a theme that i'm largely responsible for, but it turns out i don't like... we'll see what happens. either way, thats my space, roughly 15' of wall to use, the pieces currently hanging are not mine, but by an old suburban home employee named aaron.
